4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment

The 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment is an inactive field artillery battalion of the US Army. At some points in its history, it has been assigned to the 82nd Airborne, the 11th Airborne, and the 101st Airborne Divisions. The unit was active during both world wars and was awarded several important decorations during World War II including a Presidential Unit Citation and French Croix de Guerre with Palm for its actions in France and additional decorations from Belgium and the Netherlands.

From its most recent assignment to the 4th Brigade of the 101st Airborne, it was redesignated as the 320th Field Artillery Regiment and was deployed, initially to the Iraqi theater and later to Afghanistan. The following decorations were awarded:

Meritorious Unit Commendation for Iraq, 2005-2006

Meritorious Unit Commendation for Afghanistan, 2008-2009

Meritorious Unit Commendation for Afghanistan, 2013

The battalion was inactivated in 2014 as part of ongoing force reductions.
