The Ironhorse Brigade (1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st cavalry Division) is a unit rich in heritage with cavalry, artillery, and logistic units dating back before the Civil War era. The brigade has proudly served in the Pacific during WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and deployed most recently four times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn. The Brigade was one of the last units out of Iraq in December 2011 as operations ended.
