Last Stryker unit out of Iraq 9-1-10 headed to Tacoma-Fort Lewis.

On 1 June 2006, the 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment was assigned to 4th Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. On 17 March 2014, it was reassigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division and activated at Fort Carson, Colorado.
