The 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing is one of the largest units in the Persian Gulf region to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 332nd is the lead Air Force organization in Iraq.

The 332d Air Expeditionary Wing is a deployed combat wing supporting United States Forces-Iraq transition from combat to stability operations, and help strengthen the capabilities of a sovereign, secure and self-reliant Iraq. The Wing traces its heritage to the famous 332d Fighter Group, led by the Tuskegee Airmen in World War II.

The 332d AEW is headquartered at Joint Base Balad (JBB), Iraq -- approximately 65 km north of Baghdad. JBB was called Logistics Support Area Anaconda, Balad Air Base or simply Camp Anaconda from 2003 to 2007. Prior to 2003, the base was knows as Al-Bakr Air Base when it was a front-line fighter and flight training center for the Iraqi air force.
