The 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment was deployed to Ramadi, Iraq along with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team during 2006-2008. Upon return to Fort Carson in 2008, the Brigade was reflagged to 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division and the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry was reflagged to 1st Battalion, 12th Regiment.
