The mission of the 64th Corps Support Group was to provide non-divisional units with centralized and integrated materiel management for class I, II, III, IV, V, VII, and IX supplies and direct support (DS) and general support (GS) maintenance. To accomplish its mission, the 64th Corps Support Group provided DS/GS maintenance, intelligence and electronic warfare (IEW)/communications security (COMSEC) maintenance, DS/GS supply, DS/GS services and transportation support on an area basis to III Corps EAD units; provided backup DS to divisional units assigned/attached to III Corps; and provided DS/GS class III and V supply support in III Corps area of responsibility.

Following the events of 11 September 2001, the Group's soldiers deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Kuwait and Iraq. With the reorganization and redesignation of the 13th Corps Support Command as the 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) in 2006, the 64th Corps Support Command was subsequently inactivated.
