Africa shaped, brushed steel coin, 3 inches wide x 3-1/2 inches high.

Southern Accord 12, 405th Brigade Support Battalion.

Southern Accord 12 (SA12) was a U.S. Africa Command-sponsored, U.S. Army Africa-led combined, joint exercise that brought together U.S. Army personnel with counterparts from the Botswana Defense Forces to conduct Humanitarian Assistance/Disaster Relief Operations, Peace Keeping Operations, Aeromedical Evacuation, and enhance military capabilities and interoperability. The two-week exercise ran 1 - 17 August 2012.

The coin was fabricated during the exercise and presented to the Maine Troop Greeters by CSM Rick Zasrod upon the 405th Brigade Support Battalion's return through Bangor on 19 August 2012.
