The 18th LRS is the largest Logistics Readiness Squadron in the Air Force, combining the capabilities of deployment, distribution, fuels, materiel, and vehicle management under one commander to provide rapid support to Air Force warriors across the spectrum of logistics operations. The squadron is composed of 761 military and civilian personnel across four flights. The Deployment and Distribution Flight provides centralized command and control over Kadena's deployment and reception operations and supports the movement of 6 million tons of cargo and 9,000 passengers annually. The Fuels Management Flight issues over 70 million gallons of fuel a year valued at $240 million. The Materiel Management Flight maintains over 52 thousand line items valued at $974 million. The Vehicle Management Flight maintains over 2,000 vehicles valued at $140 million. In combination, the four flights of 18th LRS ensure the delivery of logistics excellence to Team Kadena.
