SGT Sanchez writes, "From October 2007 to May 2008, Company C, 1st Tank Battalion, USMC, deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Using wheeled vehicles, instead of the tanks that they were trained upon, C company spent countless hours providing security along a main route running through Al Anbar Province. The Company was also charged with securing and rebuilding three towns within an 80 kilometer area of operations. All Marines and Sailors returned home safely. The hospitality and kindness grant to us on our way through Bangor International Airport will never be forgotten. Sincere appreciation and thanks, C Co, 1st Tan Bn, USMC."
