The 5th Battalion, 112 Armor Regiment was part of "Task Force Salerno".

March 06, 2005

Families of the 3rd Battalion, 141st Infantry, 72nd Brigade gathered in McAllen, at the Veteran's War Memorial of Texas to honor the local soldiers from all across the valley . The 3-141 is joined by the 3-144 Infantry 1-112 Armor, 5-112 Armor, 107th Engineers, and the 46th Medical, together these units make up "Task Force Salerno". The task force will be deployed to Afghanistan in support of "Operation Enduring Freedom".

On 9 March 2008, the 5th Battalion, 112th Armor was deactivated.
