SIDE 1 - A red pentagon-shaped background, edged with a narrow white inner border, two white chevrons, the top inverted, both interlaced, all within a blue border; the 55th Sustainment Brigade insignia surrounded by a wide decorative brass border; all on a round black background, labeled, "The first CSSB in the U.S. Army Reserve" above and, "Est. 2006" below, all surrounded by a wide black border labeled, "275th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion;" further surrounded by a brass border.

SIDE 2 - On a round black background, an outline map of Iraq colored red, white and black; above the map, the label “Operation New Dawn” and to the lower left, Lieutenant Colonel and Sergeant Major insignias, surrounded by a narrow white border; further surrounded by a wide pewter border labeled with the motto, “mission primus, militis semper,” (primary mission, always a soldier) above and, “For Excellence by the Command Team” below; further surrounded by a brass band.
