The following units Aviation Maintenance units were combined to fly and maintain the A-10 Warthog aircraft in Afghanistan during September 2011 through April 2012: 917th Fighter Group, a Reserve unit from Louisiana; 127th Maintenance Group, a National Guard unit from Michigan; 81st Aircraft Maintenance Unit, An active Air Force unit from Spanghahlem Germany; and 442nd Maintenance Group, a Reserve unit from Missouri. The sprockets on the revers side of the coin denote the tail numbers of all the aircraft assigned to the Unit(s) during the period in question.
