History of Coin: Per SSG Louis Martinez on 10/15/2014 on the occasion of his latest deployment - This coin was struck during the unit's 15-month deployment In Iraq. They were part of the President's surge to get the upper hand in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom 5 (June 2006-June 2007)

Per the coin donor, SPC James Crank, on 4/14/2008, on his return trip from deployment - " I received this coin for successfully completing 1000 flight hours unmanned aerial vehicle with no accidents and completion of a 15 month tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom."
