The front of the coin depicts tha coat of arms of 2 National Guard units: The 35th Infantry Division, headquartered at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and the 134th Cavalry Regiment, a unit of the Nebraska Army National Guard. The coin was struck on behalf of 1SG Scot Schneider, from B Troop, 1st Squadron, 134th Cavalry Regiment RSTA (Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition).
