At Fort Campbell, Task Force 106 is known as the 106th Transportation Battalion. While in Iraq on its 3rd tour of duty, the TF delivered over 60,000 logistical vehicles driving over 2 million miles. More importantly the battalion returned home all 1,200 soldiers to their families and friends.

In September 2011, the 106th Transportation Battalion was inactivated as a unit and its assets and personnel were encorporated into the 129th Combat sustainment Support Battalion.
