From the Fort Bliss Bugle dated 19 April 2014: "The 56th Military Police Company, a US Army Reserve unit from Mesa, Arizona, returned from a nine-month deployment in Afghanistan to begin the demobilization process on 6 March. The 56th MP Company is comprised of several different units that were brought together to accomplish one goal - to provide security forces for the coalition and US forces to operate. The mission also involved helping locals establish better networks and do things on their own so that US Troops can come home soon."
