Radio Station KEVN, Black Hills FOX Radio, reports on16 December 2013: "The South Dakota National Guard says the soldiers of the 235th Military Police Company are now back on US soil. That's after serving a nine-month deployment in Afghanistan. Members of the Rapid City and Sioux Falls based company arrived at Fort Bliss, Texas, on 13 December and will spend about a week there before returning to the Mt. Rushmore State. The 124 soldiers from the company were activated at a special ceremony in February. While overseas, those soldiers provided security for US Military personnel, installations, and facilities".
