Soldiers of the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment were deployed to southern Turkey in Operation Active Fence from January thru December 2013. US and NATO Patriot missile batteries and personnel were mobilized to defend Turkey's security during a period of regional instability.
