RED HORSE stands for Rapid Engineer Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers. The 823rd RED HORSE Squadron is assigned to the Air Combat Command and is an assiciate unit on Hurlburt Field. This squadron is one of only four active-duty units of its kind in the Air Force. It is designed to be highly mobile and self-sufficient and its special skills are homed through construction projects for the Air Force, Department of Defense and civilian community.
