The Mukogee-based unit's early homecoming, originally slated for January, was unexpected, family members said. The children were also allowed to choose a gift a toy, stuffed animal or clothing item donated to Operation Homefront, a Lawton-based charitable organization supporting military families. - - - - - About 150 soldiers deployed with the 1220th built and demolished roadways and other paved surfaces for Afghan and coalition forces while overseas.
