The Asiatic Squadron was a squadron of US Navy warships stationed in East Asia during the latter half of the 19th century. It was created in 1868 when the East India Squadron was disbanded. Vessals of the squadron were primarily involved in matters relating to American commerce with China and Japan, though it participated in several conflicts over 34 years of service until becoming the Asiatic Fleet in 1902. Commodore/Rear Admiral George Dewey commanded the Asiatic Fleet from 3 January 1898 to 20 May 1899.

The latest USS Dewey (DDG-105) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer in the United States Navy. The Dewey is the third Navy ship named after Admiral of the Navy George Dewey, hero of the battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War.
