"Spartans" / "Deeds...Not Words!"

The 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment was assigned on 16 February 1997 to the 1st Armored Division and activated in Germany.

It was redesignated on 1 October 2005 as the 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment. It was relieved on 16 September 2008 from assignment to the 1st Armored Division and assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division.
