USS Daniel Inouye, DDG-118.

USS Daniel Inouye (DDG-118) will be an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer of the United States Navy. The ship is named to honor former United States Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii. Inouye was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in Tuscany, Italy, during world War II and went on to serve as a United States Senator from Hawaii from 1963 until his death, making him the highest-ranking Asian-American politician in US History. The USS Daniel Inouye was christened by Inouye's widow, Irene Inouye, on 22 June 2019. The coin was put out by Bath Iron works in Maine on the occasion of the christening.
