The U.S. Public Health Service Nursing is a commissioned corps of over 6,000 highly qualified public health professionals dedicated to delivering the Nation's public health promotion and disease programs and advancing public health science. Nurse officers perform traditional clinical services, conduct research, manage the review and approval of drugs and medical products, respond to public health emergencies and develop nursing and education program. As a uniformed service, Public Health Nurses are eligible to receive the same benefits that military members do.
