The Operational Test Command Air Defense Artillery Test Directorate known as OTC ADATD, lis located at Fort Bliss, TX. It's mission is to plan, conduct, and report on Operational Tests and participate in other User Tests as directed. They provide advice and guidance on test matters pertaining to Air Defense systems, operational testing and training, and perform specific evaluations as directed by the CG. They also support the CG for the US Army Air Defense Artillery Center and Fort Bliss. The Shield - The command's mission, to seek truth through testing and experimentation, is symbolized by the triangle or fulcrum balancing a bar and sun. The bar and triangle represent a scale; the sun signifies the search for knowledge, enlightenment, and high ideals. Yellow sun & inner border is indicative of gold and represents "the worth of quality assurance of tested products." The dark blue background of the sun and fulcrum alludes to the sky and space, and suggests the possibilities and discoveries of the future. The red sword characterizes the individual soldier who's combat preparedness is aided by the data and information products the organization provides. The white color of the fulcrum and bar is expressive of the commands search for truth and the sterling quality of the products produced.
