Round shaped poker chip, blue, white and aqua in color, 1 1/2 inches in diameter

SIDE 1 - On a dark blue field, the Navy "Fighting Seabee" logo with a red number 28 under; surrounded by a yellow rope border; further surrounded by a dark blue field with the words, "NAVAL MOBILE CONSTRUCTION BATTALION" over and, "THE OLD PROS" under, both following the curviture of the circle; further surrounded by a wide band of white, blue and aqua.

SIDE 2 - On a dark blue field, from top to bottom, a Navy Petty Officer First Class Sleeve Insignia; the word, "SEABEES," in yellow and the letters "FCA" in red; on the outside edge of the field, the words, "OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM" over and, "AL ASAD, IRAQ 2007" below; further surrounded by a wide band of white, blue and aqua.

Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 28 (NMCB-28) "The Old Pros"

NMCB 28 was a component of the Naval Construction Force (NCF), and provided construction and maintenance support to United States Marine Corps (USMC), Naval Forces and other military units. Its mission was to provide disaster control effort, provide forces for Civic Action support; provide military and amphibious assault construction support; and provide subsequent combat service support ashore and defense against overt or clandestine enemy attacks directed toward personnel, camps, and facilities under construction.

NMCB 28 deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom returned in October 2008. As the result of budget cutting efforts across the Department of Defense, the Navy decommissioned Naval Mobile Construction Battalions 28 at the conclusion of fiscal year 2014.
