337th Airlift Squadron, 439th Airlift Wing.
The 337th Airlift Squadron (337th AS) is the only flying squadron of the 439th Airlift Wing, which is a unit of the Air force Reserve Command located at Westove Air Reserve Base, MA. The squadron operates 16 C-3 Galaxy aircraft at Westover. Prior to converting to the C-5 aircraft in 1987, the 337th AS operated C-130 Hercules and C-123 Provider aircraft. The 337th AS is capable of providing worldwide air movement of troops, supplies, equipment and medical patients. Airlift also involves airdrop and combat offloading operations. Support units provide communications, engineering, logistical, medical and security requirements.
