On April 8th, 2024, the town of Houlton, ME was on the path of the 2024 solar eclipse that crossed the US from Texas to Maine. Starting at 3.33 p.m., the sun went dark in Houlton for 3 minutes, 18 seconds. An estimated 20,000 people joined the slightly less than 6,000 population of the Maine town to view the phenomenon.
